Notable Successes

SEPTEMBER 2025

Memphis Immigration Court (Detained Docket)

Successfully secured bond for a detained client through a bond redetermination hearing after the Immigration Judge initially denied bond. Despite the government’s argument that the Court lacked jurisdiction under 8 C.F.R. § 1003.19(a) and Matter of Guerra, 24 I&N Dec. 37 (BIA 2006), the Court granted the motion for redetermination and set bond, resulting in the client’s release from custody.
November 2025 & January 2026

Federal Habeas Corpus Relief (ICE Detention)

Successfully secured federal habeas relief for detained clients by obtaining approval of a Writ of Habeas Corpus in the Western District of Kentucky in November 2025, followed by a second habeas approval in the Southern District of Indiana in January 2026, resulting in the clients’ release from unlawful immigration detention.
FEBRUARY 2025

Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)

Successfully prevented the detention and removal of a client who had been ordered removed by the Immigration Court, despite a pending VAWA self-petition. Filed a timely Notice of Appeal and obtained an automatic stay of removal under 8 C.F.R. § 1003.6(a), effectively halting the client’s deportation and preventing ICE custody while the BIA appeal remained pending.
FEBRUARY 2025

Louisville Immigration Court

Successfully obtained an EOIR judge’s approval of a Motion to Reopen an In Absentia Removal Order, overcoming significant legal hurdles before a judge with a historically low approval rate and giving the client a second chance to fight their case and remain in the United States.
2025

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS)

Successfully reopened and secured approval of a long-denied N-600 Application for Certificate of Citizenship by filing an I-290B Motion to Reopen under 8 C.F.R. § 103.5(a)(2). The client’s original application had been denied in 2003, but following the successful motion, USCIS reversed its prior decision and officially recognized the client as a U.S. citizen after more than two decades.
MARCH 2024

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Successfully secured USCIS approval for two clients by filing an I-290 Motion to Reopen and Motion to Reconsider under 8 C.F.R. § 103.5(a)(2) and § 103.5(a)(3), resulting in their case being reopened, reconsidered, and ultimately approved. Both clients have since naturalized as U.S. citizens.
